Berkley Pro-Tech Lures: the next evolution in hard baits

Berkley's Pro-Tech range started life in the research and development labs and is a result of countless on water testing hours with expert Berkley pro team anglers, real conditions and real fish.

Beyond life-like appearances and an extensive colour range to suit a variety of conditions and a host of fresh and saltwater species, the range performs exceptionally, and no detail has been spared when it comes to action, sink rate, castability and attractiveness in the water.

It's this process that ensures every new Berkley product is scientifically proven to catch more fish.

To top off the Pro-Tech range, the hardbody lures have been fitted with premium Japanese Owner hooks and rings.

Let's take a closer look at the Pro-Tech range:

Brimz 38S & 38D

Available in 10 colours, the Pro-Tech Brimz 38 boasts shallow and deep models to suit all types of crankbaiting conditions. When it comes to this hardbody, every vital detail has been covered from castability, the frequency of the action, to the rate of rise when it pauses. Whether you're working rock walls or slow rolling it along the side of an oyster lease, fish can't help but climb all over it.

Target Species

  • Bream
  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
  • Sooty grunter
  • Trout

Twitcher 45 & 60

Designed to target fussy estuarine and freshwater species, the Pro-Tech Twitcher is a lifelike minnow that mimics a range of common baitfish that live in most Australian aquatic environments, making it a very versatile lure to throw when fish are proving tough to get a bite out of.

Target Species

  • Bream
  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary Perch
  • Sooty grunter
  • Jungle perch
  • Trout

Jerk 60 and 90

When Berkley produced the Pro-Tech Jerk, it was done so with one mission in mind: to build a jerkbait that casts well, has a highly erratic action, and produces plenty of bites.

The Jerk 60 can be twitched and ripped to produce a realistic darting baitfish action that can be stopped dead in its tracks to suspend in a fish's face. The 90mm model is ideal for targeting flathead on the flats or while tucking in tight to snags for bass and Mangrove jacks. Both sizes feature a moving cast-weight ball that ensures long, accurate deliveries and eye-watering movement.

Target Species

  • Bream
  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
  • Trout
  • Mangrove jack

Slurp 65 & 85

Designed to 'walk the walk' and 'talk the talk' when it comes to convincing fish to bite. Berkley tuned the hardbody with a rocker profile that is easy to walk or rattle with a high rod tip to produce explosive surface strikes. Both sizes feature an extra loud rattle and sit tail down at rest to entice a subtle 'slurp' or an explosive take when paused.

The 65mm model is the go-to when conditions are calm and glassy, whereas the 85mm comes into its own when the wind picks up and ripples form on the surface.

Target Species

  • Bream
  • Whiting
  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
  • Mangrove jack

Bender 76 & 100

If you're looking to imitate a wounded baitfish, the Pro-Tech Bender should be on your radar. The curve profile produces a highly erratic, tight action that species like whiting, bream and flathead find almost impossible to resist. Whether on the flats or casting at structure the Pro-Tech Bender will unlock a solid array of species.

Target Species

  • Bream
  • Whiting
  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
  • Trout

Bazz Bait 80

When it comes to barra, you simply can't skimp on quality, as they'll make light work of inferior products. With this in mind, the Berkley team set out to build a lure that not only tempted fish to bite, but also fitted with robust hardware to handle the rigors of a barra battle.

The Pro-Tech Bazz Bait features Owner rings and ST56TN heavy duty hooks to tame the nastiest of chrome beasts. Whether you opt for a twitch and pause retrieve, or a slow roll, just be prepared to hold on!

Target Species

  • Barra
  • Mangrove jack
  • Flathead
  • Murray cod

Vibe 60mm

Berkley's Pro-Tech Vibe exerts a strong vibrating action on the lift, while shimmying on the drop, which, when combined, creates a deadly proposition.

A unique sonic rattle tops the lure off and ensures you have a recipe for success in both fresh and saltwater. Whether you're chasing big flathead or football-sized goldens the Vibe 60 should be added to your arsenal.

Target Species

  • Flathead
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
  • Golden perch
  • Murray cod

Pop 50mm

Anyone that's fished surface lures knows just how exhilarating the bite can be, and if you want to create maximum noise with a small lure, the Pop 50mm is ready for action. The surface lure sits tail down while paused and being adorned with a slender tail means maximum hook exposure will make even the subtlest bite stick. It's easy to fish, casts like a bullet and can be fished slow or fast depending on the target species.

Target Species

  • Whiting
  • Bream
  • Bass
  • Estuary perch
