PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The ODEO SOS EVDS by Daniamant is a high-intensity electronic visual distress signal designed to improve safety at sea without the hazards of traditional pyrotechnic flares. This flare emits a bright SOS strobe in internationally recognised Morse code, ensuring visibility to both surface vessels and aircraft in emergency situations. Unlike pyrotechnic flares, which burn for only a few minutes, the ODEO SOS delivers a fixed-intensity 2500-candela light for up to nine hours, significantly increasing the chance of being seen and rescued.
Powered by four user-replaceable AA lithium batteries, the ODEO SOS eliminates expiry concerns and provides reliable performance over many years. Its compact, lightweight design is fully waterproof to five metres and buoyant, allowing it to function even if dropped in the water. The simple twist activation is easy to operate in cold or wet conditions, and the included lanyard and Velcro strap allow it to be securely attached to a lifejacket or held by hand during an emergency. The supplied orange distress flag meets daytime visual signal requirements, ensuring the ODEO SOS can be used effectively both day and night when the flag is deployed.
