SAFETY AT THE SNOW
When hitting the slopes it is important to be safe to avoid injuries and accidents. We have pulled together a list of what you should do to ensure you are safe on the mountain.
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET
It is recommended that all Australian Skiers and snowboarders wear a helmet on the slopes. When hiring gear from an outlet, most places will give you a helmet to help stay safe and protected. It is compulsory for all kids to wear a helmet when snowboarding and skiing. Kids cannot participate if they do not have a helmet.
FOLLOW THE ALPINE RESPONSIBILITY CODE
As fun as the snow can be – there are risks involved. Makes sure you are aware of the Alpine responsibility code to ensure you have a safe day.
At most mountains you will find aerial lifts and drag lifts. It is important that you act smart and safe when riding a lift. Don’t bounce or swing on the lift and always use the safety bars on the lift.
