Which sandals should I choose?

The type of sandals that are best for you will depend largely on your foot type. If you have wide feet, for example, you'll probably be best suited to a sandal that offers a wide width option, adjustable straps, a cushioned footbed and a roomy toe shape. For those with narrow feet, look for a sandal that offers a narrow fit, adjustable straps and a contoured footbed.

Consider the material

What you're using your sandals for and where you plan to wear them has a big impact on the type of material you should choose. Cork soled sandals for example, are extremely comfortable and great for walking but aren't designed to be in frequent contact with water.

If you plan on fishing (or other water-related activities) in your sandals, it's usually best to go for materials such as rubber that will dry fast and won't soak up the water.

Which sandals are best for those who suffer from plantar fasciitis?

Your plantar fascia is a band of tissue that runs down the bottom of your foot from your toes to your heel. When you put too much pressure on the band, it can become inflamed.

For this reason, people with plantar fasciitis should look for sandals that have a thicker, cushioned sole as well as arch support. Sandals with a slightly higher heel that tapers down in the forefoot are also a good option as it can help move weight away from the heel.
