Crab & Bait Traps

Crab & Bait Traps

Trapping is a passive way to catch fish, shellfish, crustaceans and cephalopods. Traps can vary, from simple structures able to hold various fish species that happen to be passing by, to highly specialised equipment such as lobster pots. Fish that enter a trap usually find it difficult to get out, due to the way the trap is formed.

Traps allow some control over the species and sizes of the fish. The trap entrance can regulate the maximum size of fish caught, while the size of the mesh can allow small fish to escape. Anaconda stocks a range of different fish traps. Please check your local regulations to see if use of them is legal in your state.
