Shimano Sustain FJ 5000 XG Spin Reel

Coming in fresh from 2021 is the Shimano Sustain FJ range of Spin Reels, one of the strongest in the Magnum Lite range.
Whilst it shares its name with the previous sustain, the similarities stop when looking at the technology inclusions in the new reels, with upgrades like Micromodule II and MGL Rotors to improve its finesse and on water performance. Smoother reeling performance is accompanied by the light start up, giving you the best chance of setting hooks and still having the power to battle big fish with a lighter reel thanks to the strong Hagane Body. Dependant on size you either have 9kg of drag in the 2500 or 3000 size, or 11kg when stepping up to the 4000 or Compact 5000 models, whilst maintaining a weight of 270grams and getting 101cm retrieves per crank.
This, combined with the G Free Body for perfect balance when positioned on the right rod, and the inclusion of the long stroke spool aiding casting distance and precision, make the choice to get a Sustain FJ an easy decision. S A-RB bearings protect the reel and the 8+1 Bearing set up from the Salt and Sand that may find its way into the inner workings, whilst the X-Protect aids the protection with high water resistance without a drop in performance.
