Discover The Handy Range Of Bike Tubes At Anaconda

Whether you ride a road bike, mountain bike, BMX bike, commuter bike or scooter, you will need to consider road bike tubes and valve type for your ride. Bike inner tubes and quality bike tyres are your contact point with the road or trail, so you will need the best grip possible. Bicycle tubes are highly effective at the right pressure, with valve choices that are perfect for optimal inner tube function. The Anaconda collection of road bikes, mountain bikes, BMX bikes, triathlon bikes and commuter bikes is just the start, and we have more great outdoor products than any other retailer.

To ensure that you get the correct size of bike inner tube for your tyre, check the sidewall of your tyre. Printed onto the tyre you should see something like "700x23c" on a road bike or "29x1.9" on a mountain bike. The first number refers to the circumference of the wheel and the latter refers to the width of the tyre. If you cannot see the printed text on your tyre anymore through dirt or wear, you can usually find the details on the paperwork that came with your bike at the time of purchase. Anaconda partners with premium manufacturers who make high-quality products. Our bike tubes from Repco are thorn proof so your bike tyres can keep powering along in tough conditions, and our bike and bike accessories range includes travel bags, water cages, hydration packs, water bottles, vests, bibs, pannier bags and more. Bike Tubes FAQs

What is an inner tube?

An inner tube is a balloon-like structure, which can be inflated and deflated using a valve. The inner tube is like an air cushion, and when inflated beneath the tyre, it is what provides you with a comfortable safe ride. Unless you've converted your bike to tubeless tyres, the chances are that your bike has inner tubes.

How to change a bike inner tube?

To change a bike inner tube, start by releasing the wheel's quick release or loosening the nuts. Remove the flat tyre, using tyre levers if necessary. Carefully extract the inner tube, then install the new one. Partially inflate the tube to prevent pinching, tuck it into the tyre, and reseat the tyre onto the rim. Finally, inflate the tube to the recommended pressure.

What inner tube size do I need?

To determine the right inner tube size for your bike, check the tyre sidewall for markings indicating the tyre's diameter and width. Common sizes include 700c for road bikes and a range of sizes like 26", 27.5", or 29" for mountain bikes. Match these measurements when selecting an inner tube, ensuring compatibility for a proper fit and performance.

How to fold an inner tube?

To fold an inner tube, first release all the air. Lay the tube flat and fold it in half lengthwise, aligning the valve stem with the opposite end. Then fold the tube in half again, bringing the valve stem close to the folded edge. Roll the tube tightly, starting from the valve stem end. Secure the rolled tube with a rubber band for compact storage.

How to carry a spare inner tube?

Carry a spare inner tube conveniently by placing it in a compact saddlebag or dedicated pouch attached beneath your bike seat. Ensure the inner tube is neatly folded or rolled to save space. Alternatively, use a small container or zip-lock bag to protect it from dirt. Some cyclists opt for securing the tube with rubber bands or Velcro straps to the bike frame for quick access during rides.
