The LifeStart Foundation is a grassroots, not-for-profit charity that helps disadvantaged Vietnamese people and their families to become self-sufficient. Founded in 2000 by Australian Karen Leonard and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, the foundation applies a holistic approach to helping people in need through proven working programs and initiatives which are designed to effect a generational change.
The LifeStart Foundation believes that every child should have the opportunity to complete an education and for over fifteen years has been actively assisting disadvantaged students in Central Vietnam.
Each rider will fundraise a minimum $2,500 USD to fully sponsor one student for one year of University.
Sponsorship covers all costs for tuition, fees, book, uniforms, rent and food (there is no local University in Central Vietnam so our students need to live away from home).
Riders will be matched with a student prior to fundraising and will also have the opportunity to meet their student when they arrive in Vietnam.
All LifeStart Foundation Education scholarship students are from extremely disadvantaged families and do not have the means to attend University. Despite this they are diligent, hard working, high achieving students who dream of breaking the poverty cycle. In order to truly break the poverty cycle students need to complete a University degree to ensure gainful employment. When they graduate they not only break the poverty cycle for themselves but they always help their extended family too.
Be sure to find all information and T&C’s for entry on the LifeStart Charity Ride Website.
